Where Wear Starts

Every tonne through the chute takes a little steel with it

Ore, slurry and bulk product don't just pass through a chute or over a transfer point — they grind against it. Left unprotected, that abrasion eats into structural steel until a hopper wall thins out, a chute wears through, or a conveyor skirt stops sealing and starts spilling product onto the ground.

A wear liner or a strip of skirting rubber is a sacrificial layer, designed to take that abrasion in your place and be replaced on a schedule you control — instead of steel failing on a schedule it controls.

  • NBR, CR and EPDM grades available where oil, chemical, or UV exposure is the driver rather than pure abrasion
  • Specialty compounds available on request — BR, FKM (Viton) and Hypalon (CSM) for extreme heat, chemical, or weathering service outside standard duty
  • Supplied loose for field bonding or pre‑bonded to steel backing plates

02 — Ceramic‑Rubber Hybrid Panels

Ceramic‑Rubber Hybrid Panels

  • For high‑velocity or sharp‑ore zones where straight rubber wears fastest — chute knuckles, transfer point impact zones and high‑abrasion launders
  • Ceramic tile vulcanisation‑bonded to an 8–20mm rubber backing, press‑formed as panels
  • Tile hardness from roughly 950 up to 1,200 HV depending on grade — harder than hardened steel — matched to the abrasion severity of your application. Silicon Carbide (SiC) available on request for extreme thermal or chemical service
  • Large wear areas engineered as a tiled multi‑panel layout — panel size is set by press capacity, not by what we can cover
  • Panel layout, joint pattern and backing plate design engineered to your chute or hopper drawing

03 — Conveyor Skirting Rubber

Conveyor Skirting Rubber

  • Seals loading and transfer points to contain fines and dust and stops spillage building up under the belt
  • Standard NR / NR‑SBR compounds, 10–25mm, slit and edge‑profiled to your skirt geometry
  • Softer 50–60 Shore A grades available where protecting the belt edge matters more than raw abrasion resistance
  • FRAS‑capable compound development (AS 4606, AS 1334.10, TRG 3608) for underground and coal handling duty — see Fire Resistant + Anti‑Static Compounds section
  • Supplied in coil or cut length, with or without pre‑drilled mounting holes
