Why Reinforcement Matters

Every bar of pressure is looking for the weakest point in the wall

Water, slurry, cement and air don't just move through a hose — under working pressure, they push outward against every millimetre of the wall, all the time. A hose that's under-reinforced for the job doesn't usually fail gradually; it fails suddenly, at the worst possible moment in a suction or discharge cycle.

The steel-and-canvas reinforcement ply is what turns a rubber tube into a pressure vessel. It's tested to hold at least 1.5× working pressure under hydrostatic load and built to a 3:1 safety factor as standard against burst — with a 4:1 premium option available where a project calls for extra margin — so the number on the spec sheet has margin built in before it ever gets close to the number that matters on site.

Safety Factor

Two tiers - the same testing rigor

Standard

3:1 Safety Factor

  • The baseline build across the full hose range — no special order, standard lead time
  • Matches the accepted design factor for large-bore suction, discharge and dredge-type hose
  • Right fit for most dewatering, transfer and general process duty
  • Hydrostatic and vacuum tested on every batch
Premium

4:1 Safety Factor

  • Additional steel-cord and canvas reinforcement, burst-tested to a 4:1 design ratio
  • Available across all four duty classes — water, cement/sand, oil and air
  • Matches the more conservative design standard some mining and EPC specifications require
  • Tested burst-pressure data available on request, not just a nominal rating

Both tiers share the same bore range, flange options and quality framework. Clients specify which tier a project calls for when requesting a quote.

Product Range

Four duty classes - one construction standard

Every hose is ordered against the same quality framework — steel-and-canvas reinforcement in a 3:1 standard or 4:1 premium build and in-house pressure testing on every batch.

01 — Water

Water Suction & Discharge Hose

  • General-purpose duty: dewatering, transfer and non-corrosive liquid handling
  • Natural or synthetic rubber tube, high elasticity to absorb pump-side surge
  • Steel-and-canvas reinforcement — 3:1 standard or 4:1 premium
  • Flangeless, slip-on, or built-in flange to PN10, PN16, ANSI, TIS, or JIS
  • 2″ – 28″ bore, up to 20m per section
02 — Cement & Sand

Cement & Sand Suction / Discharge Hose

  • Abrasion-resistant tube compound for cement, sand and other bulk solids
  • Handles dry or slurried abrasive material without premature wear-through
  • Same steel-and-canvas reinforcement — 3:1 standard or 4:1 premium
  • Textured, smooth, or wavy surface finish to suit handling equipment
  • 2″ – 28″ bore, up to 20m per section
03 — Oil

Oil Suction & Discharge Hose

  • Synthetic rubber tube compatible with oil and hydrocarbon-based fluids
  • Steel-and-canvas reinforcement — 3:1 standard or 4:1 premium
  • Weather-resistant outer cover for outdoor and terminal installation
  • Flange drilling to your project standard on request
  • 2″ – 28″ bore, up to 20m per section
04 — Air

Air Suction & Delivery Hose

  • Reinforced hose for suction and delivery of air and other non-corrosive gases
  • Same pressure-rated construction as the liquid-handling range
  • High-elasticity tube to handle pressure cycling without fatigue
  • Steel-and-canvas reinforcement — 3:1 standard or 4:1 premium
  • 2″ – 28″ bore, up to 20m per section
Build Specification

Each hose is built using the same high-strength reinforcement system. The inner tube compound is then tailored to the media being conveyed, ensuring optimum chemical compatibility and service life.

Tested to Prove It

Every rubber compound is rheometer-tested during production to ensure consistent curing. Mechanical and physical properties are then verified against the relevant international standards, with test results supplied in the shipment's Certificate of Analysis.

ISO 1402 / ASTM D380

Hydrostatic Pressure

Tested to a minimum of 1.5× working pressure — confirms the hose holds before it's ever put under load on your site.

ISO 7233 / ASTM D380

Vacuum / Negative Pressure

Confirms the wall won't collapse under suction duty, not just hold pressure on the discharge side.

ISO 1402 / ASTM D380

Burst Pressure

Physically verified to 8″ bore at both 3:1 and 4:1 ratios; larger diameters qualified via hydrostatic and vacuum testing to the required design factor.

ISO 6502 / ASTM D5289

Rheometer — Cure Curve

Run on every batch to confirm consistent cure state before it ever leaves the factory.

ASTM D2240 / ISO 48

Hardness (Shore A)

Verifies the durometer ordered is the durometer delivered, batch to batch.

ASTM D412 / ISO 37

Tensile Strength & Elongation

Confirms the compound holds together and flexes as specified under working load.

ISO 4649 / ASTM D5963

Abrasion Resistance

The core measure of how long an abrasion-duty tube actually lasts against cement, sand and slurry.

ASTM D471 / ISO 1817

Chemical & Fluid Immersion

Confirms swell and degradation stay within spec for oil and process-fluid exposure.

ISO 8031 / AS 1180

Electrical Conductivity & Grounding

Confirms the hose safely dissipates static charge — critical for fuel, solvent and fine dry-bulk transfer where a spark is a genuine risk.
